Facilities Operations, Maintenance and Energy Management

Plant Operations, Building Automation, and Energy Management Program provides central plant operations, building automation controls and energy management services, to buildings, building systems, parking garages, and ancillary facilities managed and/or maintained by the Commission.

The Plant Operations program is staffed on a 24-hour 7-day work schedule to monitor central plants that provide chilled water and steam to various buildings and is also responsible for 21 stand-alone systems in buildings that do not receive chilled water or steam from the central power plants.

The Building Operations program includes Fire Controls and Security Controls. This program minimizes equipment and system outages thereby maintaining a comfortable and safe building environment for tenant agencies and their visitors. The objective of the Energy Management Program is to identify areas within the Commission's building inventory where energy and utility savings can be realized and to assist in the implementation of strategies and projects to achieve those savings.
