Harvey Hilderbran was selected by the TFC Commissioners to serve as the agency's Executive Director effective January 26, 2015. Mr. Hilderbran is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of TFC, working with the appointed Commissioners to effectively administer the agency's statutory functions. TFC supports state government through strategic planning; the design, construction, maintenance, and leasing of state facilities; and the reallocation and/or disposal of state and federal surplus property.
Mr. Hilderbran is a businessman and former lawmaker who served in the Texas House of Representatives for District 53 (Kerrville) from 1988 to January 2015. During his thirteen terms in state office, Mr. Hilderbran served as Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means; the House Committee on Culture, Recreation, and Tourism; and the House Committee on Human Services. He also served as a member of the Redistricting Committee; the Select Committee on Voter Identification and Voter Fraud; the Natural Resources Committee; and the State Affairs Committee. Mr. Hilderbran also served on the Legislative Audit Committee and the Legislative Budget Board and was co-chair of the legislative oversight committee for the Edwards Aquifer Underground Conservation Authority.
Prior to his legislative service in the Texas House of Representatives, Mr. Hilderbran worked as a congressional legislative assistant for agriculture and small business issues in Washington, D.C. in the mid-1980s. He later served as assistant director of state affairs for the Texas Farm Bureau.
Born in Uvalde in 1960, Mr. Hilderbran is a 1983 graduate of Texas Tech University. He and his wife, Tracy, have two daughters.
